On Wednesday at the Newcastle Entertainment Center-Australia, Joshua Clottey was successful in his return to the ring when he secured a unanimous decision victory over Anthony Mundine.
Joshua Clottey was crowned the new IBF light middleweight champion after a dominant display over Mundine.
In the early rounds, Joshua started off well with some good body shots and grew stronger as the bout progressed.
Joshua’s power and precision on the night saw him send Mundine to the canvass five times; the first of the knockdowns came in the third round when he caught Mundine with a straight right.
Joshua was the aggressor and proved too strong for the Australian as he went down again in round six, eight and round ten.

"I got caught early and didn’t recover the way I wanted to, my defence wasn’t tight enough but I finished the fight on my feet ", Mundine said after the fight.
The bout ended with all three judges scoring the fight in favour of the hitter, the scorecards read 116-108, 115-109 and 117-108.
An elated Joshua Clottey says the fight is a blessing and he took his opportunity. He praised his opponent and labelled him as ''a good fighter''.
