Rebels Needed For Rebellion

I clearly saw that war was upon us when i learnt that the copper bullets had secretly bought new ammunitions’’ is the only thing that will be running through head coach Akwasi Appiahs’ mind as he prepares to select his players for the game against the copper bullets of Zambia, a game in which he must deliver to mend broken hearts of Ghanaians. The chipolopolo’s have constantly been a thorn in the flesh of Ghanaians after two painful back to  back losses in recent meetings, the stars will look to avenge these defeats to earn the bragging rights.

Most pundits and soccer loving fans have expressed mixed feelings ahead of the yet to be named squad by the gaffer. Akwasi Appiah who recently led the stars to two vital away wins over Lesotho and Sudan is gradually warming his way into the hearts of Ghanaians; his blend of locally based players in particular has been eye pleasing. Months after players called time off the team, the coach and his officials have tried their very best to augment  the squad with new players  and this act has raised a lot of eyebrows; after the team failed to reach the finals of the recent AFCON, the coach received alot of bashing particularly after he left out the Ayews. But he moved on and rather chalked some rather impressive results.

The success of every top team in the world is a good bench, moving forward the game against the Zambians will not be a walk in the park and Akwasi Appiah will certainly need all available arsenals at his disposal to enable progress into the next stage of qualifiers.

I in particular have been an advocate of Kwadwo Asamoah playing in a rather deep playmaker role and judging by recent games the gaffer has done just that. The only problem is we are still struggling to get a perfect fit for that playmaker hole behind in-form Asamoah Gyan, players such as Sulley Muntari, Christian Atsu among others have all had their tries but have failed to leave a dent deep to warrant them that spot. K.P Boateng and Dede Ayews’ quality might just be the perfect remedy to that predicament and a fit Jordan Ayew will be a perfect replacement for a tired Wakaso.

Now that there is news everywhere that the AWOL players have rescinded their decision and are available for selection, will Akwasi Appiah ‘’silencer’’ invite the players or will he silence us again, only time will tell.
