Andre Ayew in Marseille win

Black Stars and Olympique Marseille midfielder, Andre Dede Ayew, helped his side to a 2-0 home win over Jonathan Mensah’s Evian Thonon Gaillard on Saturday.

Goals on either side of the break by Andre Pierre Gignac and Dimitri Payet handed Les Phocéens their second set of three points in the new season.

Andre Ayew, who started the game, had an uneventful first half but came into the game in the second period. Andre must have felt hard done by when a penalty appeal was waved off in the 61st minute. He received a caution in the 82nd minute.

Andre’s younger brother, Jordan, was an unused substitute.

Jonathan Mensah played the entire game for Evian TG. 23-year-old Rabiu Mohammed, who was solid for Evian over the second half of the previous season, has made a €3 million switch to Kuban Krasnodar. He is believed to have landed in the Russian city of Krasnodar to complete his move to the Kuban Stadium on Friday.
