Ghana Black Stars midfielder, Derek Boateng, fulfilled his long-time dream of playing in the English Premier League as he featured for his new side Fulham in their 1-0 away with over Sunderland on Saturday.
Swiss Pajtim Kasami’s 53rd-minute goal was the only goal of the game that handed Martin Jol his first three points of the season.
30-year-old Boateng, who started the game, however got his first caution after only 23 minutes. He was substituted in the 65th minute.
The midfielder who has had previous stints with Beitar Jerusalem, Köln, Getafe and Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk has been a target of Martin Jol for some years now.
Boateng who has been capped 46 times by Ghana had a torrid time in last seasons after he fell out with Dnipro coach Juande Ramos.
In fact, he looked set to join the Cottagers in January but the move fell through due to some contract issues with Dnipro.
