The deputy Sports Minister, Hon. Alhaji Joseph Yamin has said that tickets for the Ghana vs Egypt match will be available a week to the match.
This is to make access easy to teeming fans that will troop to Baba Yara Sports Stadium to watch the match.
“Tickets will be available one week to the match to avoid ticket racketeering. Tickets will be available latest by 8th or 9th October at all entrances of the stadium [Baba Yara, Kumasi] and some designated radio stations,” Hon. Yamin explained in an interview on Sika FM.
In a related issue, the deputy minister commented on the exorbitant charges for the match and explained why the charges for the popular stands, center line and VIP have increased from Gh¢ 4 to Gh¢ 8, Gh¢ 7 to Gh¢ 20, and Gh¢ 20 to Gh¢ 30 respectively.
He said: “The increment is to prevent ticket racketeering and also the charges have shot up because the demand for the tickets from the Egyptians, corporate bodies and the fans all over the country is so high.”
These are measures the sports ministry is putting in place ahead of the Black Stars’ World Cup qualifier encounter with the Pharaohs of Egypt at Kumasi Baba Yara Sports Stadium on the 15th of October, 2013.
