All soccer fans who have been missing the Ghana Premier League should be kicking themselves in the foot as the league continuously heats up. Gradually, the men are being separated from the boys and those who dreamt of an end to the Kotoko-Hearts duopoly should be rewriting their books.
Asante Kotoko maintain their perfect start to the season with a solitary goal win against Wa All Stars. The only goal was scored by Eric Donkor in the 65th minute.
Their rivals, Hearts of Oak drew the battle lines when they defeated Hasaacas by 2-goals-to-one, with goals from new Phobia heroes, Emmanuel Hayford and Winful Cobbinah. However, Tetteh Lugard in post for Hearts has surely ruled himself out of the national team keeper’s position with a series of bad performances. He was replaced in the 45th mnute by former Black Stars keeper Philemon Macarthy.
Team of the Week, Bechem United won the first of two regional derbies on Matchday 4 by beating Aduana at the Dormaa park.
The other derby between Ashgold and King Faisal ended in a goalles draw, although the results put the miners in third position on the league log.
Ebusua Dwarfs return to winning ways by defeating former champions Berekum FC 3-1 to move to 7th on the league table.
Medeama fans are piling up pressure on the team’s management as their poor start to the league continued. They fell to Hearts of Lions from a Nana Egyir goal.
The 'Battle of the Pofessionals' showed equality as it ended in a 1-1 draw and left both teams close together on the league table. Amidaus are 8th with their 'Professional' compatriots, Liberty 9th as they both have 5 points.
New Edubiase defeated Inter Allies by a lone goal to secure their first win of the season and left the debutants as the only side yet to take a point after Matchday 4. With Inter Allies firmly rooted at the bottom of the league, can it be said they are heading back to Division 1? I say, only time will tell.
