Hearts of Oak recorded a 1-0 away win over new boys Bechem United in their Matchday 5 fixture on Saturday to go top of the Ghana Premier League.
A Thomas Abbey strike in the 3rd minute deflected off Patrick Opoku and ended up in the home side's net and the lone goal ensured the massive three points for the Phobians.
The game was not an easy one as fans at the Bechem Park enjoyed end-to-end action and Hearts had to ward off a lot of the home side's attacks, with keeper Philemon McCarthy pulling off match-winning saves.
David Duncan and his charges have in effect ended Miroslav Bogdanovic's side's four-game unbeaten run.
The previous two meetings between the two clubs, in the 2011/12 season, ended in goalless draws.
Hearts now have 12 points from five games and are level with Asante Kotoko, at least until the defending champions play another debutant, Inter Allies, on Sunday at the Tema Park.
