The Ghana Football Association has confirmed that injured Ghana midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng may still join the Black Stars for the all important World Cup playoff against Egypt.
Reports in the local media have it that the Schalke midfielder has been ruled out of next week’s must-win encounter against the Pharoahs, after picking up an injury during his side's 4-1 win over Ausburg over the weekend.
Speaking to Accra-Based radio station Joy FM, GFA President Kwasi Nyantakyi said: “We are looking forward to his return to the team, he is still recuperating and hopefully he will join the team before the game. He has not been ruled out yet.”
The news will be seen as a major boost for the Black Stars who have been hit with several injuries ahead of the game against Egypt on October 15.
The Black stars aim to seal their third consecutive World Cup appearance while their rivals the Pharoahs hope to seal a first World Cup berth since 1990.
