It will be action-packed at the various match venues when the Ghana Premier League enters its eighth week on Wednesday.
League leaders Kumasi Asante Kotoko had their unbeaten dreams crashed at Bechem during the weekend. As they welcome Berekum Fc to the Baba Yara Stadium, nothing short of a bounce back will appease their teeming fans who are still soothing their pain from Bechem.
Hearts of Oak had the chance to steal top spot from their rivals but could manage a draw at Kpando. With the points deficit reduced, it will be a interesting match as they host Liberty in an Accra derby. Matches between the two have always produced goals and with the form of Liberty, fans at th Accra Stadium can expect nothing less.
The only undefeated side in the league so far Ashantigold has their record coming under its most severe test when they travel to Dormaa to meet Aduana Stars. The Dormaa side was brutally battered in their last match and will be coming all out for a win to please their fans.
At Wa, perennial bad travellers Hasaacas will be most pleased if they are able to manage a draw. The returnees are yet to win away this league campaign and the Wa outfit will do well to maintiain that.
Amidaus are proving themselves at the surprising outifit in the league this year and as they trek to meet Medeama at Tarkwa T&A park, it could well be a tricky encounter. Medeama have had a poor run in the league and many expect the change in technical team to have its desired impact. They however should be wary of top marksman Daniel Awuni and his colleagues.
Edubiase return to familiar territory on Wednseday at Bekwai against Hearts of Lions. Both teams drew their last match but Edubiase precarious position on the league log will be enough motivation to spur them on to victory. Lions have the benefit of experience on their part and could force a split of points.
Professor Mintah’s Dwarfs have not been taking full advantage of their home matches and as Faisal visits Cap Coast on Wednesday, their best chance to right those earlier wrongs will be presented. Faisal have been losing points all season and Dwarfs look favourites even though both teams are having a torrid time.
Inter Allies have all but confirmed their relegation status. Still without a point after 7 round of matches, a point at home against Bechem United who are buoyant, coming on the back of the giant-killing feat of the title holders will be one story for this league season.
