Ghana Premier League Matchday 9: Ashantigold remain unbeaten

Ashantigold maintained their unbeaten run in the Ghana Premier League with a 1 – 0 win over Accra Hearts of Oak. Didier Kore got the only goal in the 46th minute for the home side. The win sends Ashantigold to second position on the league log.

Coach Duncan’s side failed to convert the numerous chances they created in the first half. Hearts of Oak keep the pressure on Ashantigold, but the miners remained resolute and kept their nerves till referee Ametepe blew his whistle for the end of the game.

Hearts of Oak host King Faisal at the Accra Sports Stadium, Ashantigold will face Edubiase away from home.

Heart of Lions resurgence continued with a 2 – 0 win over Kumasi Asante Kotoko at the Kpando Stadium. Lions scored both goals in the first half through Isaac Osae and Idan Commey.

Kumasi Asante Kotoko on the day looked disjointed, midfield pair of Micheal Akuffo and Jordan Opoku failed to thwart the command posed by experienced Edmund Owusu Ansah. Hearts of Lions looked the better side throughout the game.

The defeat will be the porcupine warriors second in the campaign.

Micheal Appiah continued his sizzling start in the league after his goal gave Liberty a well-deserved win Edubiase FC at the Accra Sports Stadium. Micheal Appiah has scored four times this season for Liberty Professionals.

At the Baba Yara Stadium, Kumasi King Faisal defeated Aduana Stars 2 – 0. Goals from Sadat Wahab and Frouk Mohammed were enough to secure all three points.

Gabriel Ayala showed great presence and skill as his double was enough to hand the Brekum FC all three points. Inter Allies failed to replicate that good form they showed against Bechem United in week 9 fixtures. Bechem FC ended the game with a 2 – 0 win.

Elsewhere, Medeama FC saw off challenge from Wa All Stars with a 1 – 0 win. Ishmeal Hammond was on the score sheet for Medeama.

Bechem United shared spoils with Sekondi Hasaacas in Bechem.
