GPL Week 10: Hearts drop points, AshGold lose finally, Hasaacas thrash Berekum FC

Sekondi Hasaacas rallied from a goal down to beat visiting team FC Berekum by 3 goals to 1 at the Sekondi Stadium. The win provides relief for the team after strings of poor results.

Goals from Kingsley Adjei , Richard Yamoah and Samuel Afful put the home side in total control of the game. Bonsu Landry’s goal in the first half was a consolation for the Brekum side.

Kpando Heart of Lions continued their impressive form with a hard-fought win over International Allies at the Tema Stadium.

The Tema based side, Inter Allies took the lead through Antwi Agyare but Sammuel Yeboah restored parity for the visitors in the second half. Both teams failed to make the most of considerable possession and a number of chances in the first half.

After recess, Lions dominated and kept knocking on the doors of their host, their pressure finally paid off from a Huudu Yakubu free kick.

Ashantigold’s unbeaten run was abruptly ended by Edubiase FC at the Gyamfi Stadium.  Ashgold shot themselves in the foot after midfielder Joseph Atobisah, failed to score from the spot in the first half.

Edubiase started brightly after recess, with some good football. Centre back Samed Ibrahim stun the visitors with a well taken goal. Bright Odoom put the game beyond Ashgold’s reach late in the game.

Elsewhere, Aduana Stars lost 0 – 1 at home to Amidaus Professionals. Joeseph Quansah’s goal was enough to earn the Tema side all three points.

Aduana will face Medeama SC in week 11 fixtures of the GPL while Amidaus take on Accra Hearts of Oak at home.

At the Accra Sports Stadium, King Faisal held Hearts of Oak to a 1 – 1 drawn game. Sulley Mohammed’s goal in the first half was cancelled in the second half by Romeo Agban.

Coach Duncan’s side failed to convert numerous goal scoring opportunities in the second half. Captain Tettey Nortey and his charges remained resolute and kept their nerves till the 90th minute.

Medeama SC shared the spoils with Dwarfs at the Robert Mensah Stadium. Kabiru Imoro’s goal was cancelled in the second half through Fredrick Boateng, the game ended 1 – 1.
