The GFA President, Lawyer Kwasi Nyantakyi has decried the attitude of some sponsors of the FA who are not prompt in their financial obligation to the association.
Mr Nyantakyi was speaking at an event where CCTC (Importers of Ricemaster, the official meal sponsor of the Black Stars) honoured their sponsorship promise.
In a subtle response to sponsors like Globacom and others who are believed to be indebted to the FA, Mr Nyantakyi said: "You [CCTC] have been a reliable sponsor and have always honoured your obligations on time. Not like other sponsors who have arrears to clear.
"So I hope the other sponsors will take a cue from CCTC and pay monies owed the FA on time. You might pay but the time of payment may lose its effect because of time value for money."
Many critics of the FA have always lambasted the Nyantakyi administration for their inability to find ‘proper’ sponsors for the local league with old sponsors, Glo failing to honour their promise to the league clubs.
The ongoing league is still waiting for a headline sponsor.
