In what will prove to be this season’s first of numerous shockers to come, David Duncan has been dismissed as coach of Glorious Club, Accra Hearts of Oak.
In a statement of the club's official website, the surprising decision was announced.
"Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting Club Limited wish to announce that we have mutually agreed with Coach David Duncan to part ways with immediate effect. We wish to assure the Club's teeming followers that the Club remains focused on mounting a credible challenge for the Premier League and FA Cup. Meanwhile, Assistant Coach Ben Adjei has been asked to take temporary charge of the team. Thank you."
Agoronet.com gathers that the decision was reached by the Club’s board headed by Togbe Afede V after its meeting on Thursday night.
This is a decision that is definitely going to be unpopular among the teeming Phobian fans. Coach Duncan joined Hearts at the start of the second round of the 2012/13 season and guided Hearts to a second placed finish.
Hearts of Oak visits Amidaus in their week 11 match at Tema on Sunday, lying in second place and 4 points adrift leaders, Kotoko.
