Wednesday, December 4th, officially marks the end of the tenure of Opoku Nti as Asante Kotoko's interim chairman but sources close to the club's Board of Directors say the Ex-Kotoko player might be handed an extension that will see him stay on till the end of the current GPL campaign.
The legendary 'Lord of Green Turf', as he is fondly known as, was on the 4th of September handed the club's topmost administrative position by the Board for a period of 3 months within which the club was expected to put measures in place to advertise and subsequently appoint a substantive CEO; an arrangement that has obviously delayed.
Opoku Nti's Kotoko lead the current GPL log with 30 points, 4 more than sworn rivals Hearts of Oak. Impressive as his team has been so far, many still question his suitability for the position and his ability to advance the club's course on all administrative fronts.
Meanwhile, media speculations have suggested, among many other names, former Ghana international and club director, Samuel Osei Kuffour, is favoured by the Board to take up the reigns as the new club chief though very little information has come through by way of an official communique as to the club's administrative direction.
