Berekum FC will regard Sunday’s victory over Liberty Professionals as a welcome distraction as pressure mounts on the team.
The team’s good performance last season earned them a place in the CAF Champions League competition. However, the situation this season is unfamiliar and uncomfortable, they just have four wins in fourteen games.
Tony Lokko, manager of the side, believes the win will ease a lot of growing pressure on his players.
“There is immense pressure on my boys to win games, the win against Liberty will definitely ease some pressure off them’’, He told Asempa FM.
“We will need to plan well, and give a better performance in the second round. Hopefully our current position on the league standing will change’’.
FC Berekum’s final fixture of the first round will be against Ashantigold at the Len Clay Stadium in Obuasi.
