Ghanaian Players Abroad – 13-15 December: Mensah scores first Ligue 1 goal; Gyan and others

Black Stars defender got his first ever Ligue 1 goal for Evian TG but a late equaliser denied them a win.

It was business as usual for Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan as he bagged a brace.

Aziz Tetteh and Emmaneul Osei Banahene were also on the score sheet for their respective teams.

England

In the Premier League, Michael Essien played the entirety of Chelsea's 2-1 home win over Crystal Palace on Saturday. He was shown a yellow card in the 58th minute.

 

In the Championship, Albert Adomah played the entire game as Middlesbrough fell to a 0-1 home defeat at the hands of Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday.

Jeffery Schlupp came on in the 83rd minute as Leicester City drew 1-1 at home with Burnley on Saturday.

 

In the League One, Abdul Osman (90 minutes) helped bottom Crewe Alexandra to a 2-2 away draw with Coventry City on Saturday.

 

In the League Two, Jo Kuffour came on in the 60th minute and helped Wycombe Wanderers to a 1-1 home draw with Scunthorpe United on Saturday.

Patrick Agyemang played 67 minutes of Portsmouth's 0-2 home defeat to Newport County on Saturday.

 

Italy

In the Seria A, Kwadwo Asamoah (90 minutes) helped Juventus to a 4-0 home win over Raman Chibsah's Sassuolo on Sunday. Chibsah came on in the 71st minute.

Afriyie Acquah played 90 minutes as Parma drew 0-0 with Cagliari at home on Sunday.

Alfred Duncan lasted the entire game as Livorno lost 0-2 away to Lazio on Sunday. He was shown a 74th-minute yellow card.

 

In the Serie B, Masahudu Alhassan played 90 minutes of Latina's 2-3 home loss to Crotone on Saturday.

 

Spain

In the La Liga, Richmond Boakye Yiadom played 78 minutes of Elche's 1-2 away loss to Levante on Friday. He earned 65th-minute yellow card.

 

France

In the Ligue 1, Jonathan Mensah (90 mins) scored Evian TG's first goal but a late Ayité equaliser for Reims denied them a good home win on Saturday.

Jordan Ayew played 56 minutes as Olympique Marseille went away and played a 2-2 draw with Olympique Lyonnais on Sunday.

 

In the Ligue 2, Kwame Nsor played the first 45 minutes of FC Metz's 2-4 away loss to Tours FC on Friday. He was yellow-carded in the 16th minute.

 

Germany

In the Bundesliga, Karim Bellarabi lasted 20 minutes as Eintracht Braunschweig lost 1-4 away to Augsburg on Saturday.

Kevin-Prince Boateng (90 minutes) helped Schalke 04 to a 2-0 home win over Freiburg on Sunday.

 

In the 2 Bundesliga, Charles Takyi came on in the 67th minute as bottom Energie Cottbus lost 1-3 at home to Fortuna Düsseldorf on Saturday.

Abdul Baba Rahman came on in the 65th minute as Greuther Fürth lost 1-3 away to Arminia Bielefeld on Sunday.

 

In the 3.Liga, Phil Ofosu-Ayeh (90 minutes) helped MSV Duisburg to a 1-1 home draw with bottom-placed Wacker Burghausen on Saturday.

 

Netherlands

In the Eredevisie, Shadrach Eghan played 63 minutes as FC Twente beat Go Ahead Eagles 3-1 at home on Saturday.

Christian Atsu (90 minutes) helped Vitesse Arnhem to a 3-2 home win against NAC Breda on Sunday.

 

Belgium

In the Pro League, Daniel Opare played the entire game as Standard Liège beat Bennard Yao Kumordzi's (66 mins) Genk 3-1 at home on Sunday.

Frank Acheampong came on in the 73rd minute and provided the assist for the winner as Anderlecht went away to beat Nana Asare's (90 minutes) Gent 2-1 on Sunday.

 

Croatia

In the 1. HNL, Lee Addy (90 minutes) helped Dinamo Zagreb to a 3-1 home win over Zadar on Sunday.

 

Greece

In the Super League, Aziz Tetteh (90 minutes) scored the second goal as Platanias beat Xanthi 3-0 at home on Saturday.

 

In the Football League, Mark Asigba helped Fokikos to a 2-1 away win over Glyfadas on Sunday.

 

Portugal

In the Primeira Liga, Alhassan Wakaso played 90 minutes as Rio Ave lost 1-3 at home to Porto on Sunday.
