Ghana maintained its 24th position on the FIFA Ranking released earlier today and maintained second position in Africa with 851 points.
The top ten (World) remained unchanged with World and European champions, Spain leading the pack. Germany, Argentina, Columbia and Portugal maintained their positions respectively within the top five. Uruguay, Italy Switzerland, Netherlands and World Cup host Brazil rounded up the top ten.
The African ranking saw movement in the top five, with Egypt moving into fourth place. Ivory Coast, Ghana, Algeria and Cape Verde positions within the top five remained unchanged.
Nigeria fell short dropping three places from third to seventh. Burkina Faso also lost their position at number ten to South Africa, Cameroon maintained 9th spot.
The ongoing Championship of African Nations (CHAN) competition will bring considerable changes in next month’s ranking.
The next FIFA ranking will be released on 13 February 2014.
