A ten-man Ghana side defeated Nigeria in the ongoing CHAN tournament in a pulsating semi-finals encounter last Wednesday night in South Africa.

After a stalemate in the stipulated 90+30 minutes of extra time, the game was decided on shootouts, with a 4-1 aggregate in favour of the local Black Stars.

This leaves Ghana extending her supremacy over the Super Green Eagles in senior men's football games close to a decade without defeat.

Ghana now faces Libya in the grande finale while her neighbors and rivals, Nigeria settle for a date with Zimbabwe for 3rd/4th place.

However, in a post-match presser, the Black Stars v2.0 coach, Maxwell Konadu insisted, his side intentionally stretched the game to shootouts having a fore knowledge of his counterparts' weakness.

"We purposely stretched the match into penalty shootout because we knew that Nigeria did not know how to play penalty," says Ghana coach, Maxwell Konadu according to Vanguard.
