Ghanaian quartet record wins in CAF-Club competition

Kumasi Asante Kotoko, FC Berekum, Dwarfs and Medeama SC recorded wins in their respective games.

At the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, Kwabena Adusei scored from the spot twice to give Kotoko a 2-1 win over Barrack Young Controllers of Liberia. The defender put Kotoko ahead in the 42nd minute but the goal was short-lived as the visitors levelled before halftime.

The host showed more determination in the second half; they were rewarded with a second penalty when striker Seydou Bancey was impeded in the box, Kwabena Adusei stepped up again and converted expertly sending goalkeeper Sherman the wrong way.


Medeama SC recorded a 2-1 victory over Panthers of Equatorial Guinea in the first leg of their CAF Confederation Cup game.

Micheal Helegbe and Samuel Nzemaba were on target for the Mauves on their debut, in the CAF club competition.They will host the Equatorial Guineans in the return leg at the Sekondi Essipong Stadium.

FC Berekum recorded at 2-0 win over FC Atlabara of South Sudan in the first leg Champions League tie. Owusu Jackson found the back of the net twice in the second half to give the Berekum lads the advantage ahead of the return leg in a fortnight.

Elsewhere at the Robert Mensah Stadium a solitary goal from the foot of Richard Gadze secured a win for Dwarfs  over ASC Jaaraf. Dwarfs could have increased their tally but were poor in front of goal.
