Abdul Majeed Waris continued his impressive form for his relegation-threatened Valenciennes (where he is on loan) scoring twice in their game against Jordan Ayew’s Sochaux. In Holland, Christian Atsu also grabbed the headlines when he grabbed the winner for Vitesse Arnhem. Kwadwo Asamoah was, as usual, influential in Juventus’ victory in the Turin derby.

In the Championship, Albert Adomah came on in the 72nd minute as Middlesbrough drew 0-0 at home with Leeds United on Saturday.
