Ex-Hearts of Oak team manager Jacob Nettey has been left shocked by his sacking at the club.

The former captain of the side who doubled as team manager and head coach of the youth team (Auroras) was axed together with assistant coach Ben Adjei and goalkeeper’s trainer Dan Tettehvi.

“I am very, very surprised and disappointed as well because I don’t know the reasons behind the sack. I think they believe am not good enough. If am the reason behind the team’s misfortunes I pray my departure will solve the problem” he was quoted as saying in an interview with Asempa FM.

Relationships between the coach (Mohammed Polo) have deteriorated in recent weeks coming to a head following the teams 0-3 home defeat to Wa All Stars.

“Mohammed Polo since then has failed to respond whenever I greet him, reason being my suggestion that the fitness levels of the players is on the low in a meeting held by Club chairman Togbe Afede XIV”.

Nettey said his unwavering support for Hearts of Oak still continues and will serve anytime he is giving the opportunity again.

“I pray the Phobians are able to win the trophy this season, and i will work with the team anytime i am invited again ” he added.
