Medeama SC progressed into the next phase of the CAF club competition despite a lone goal defeat to Zesco United of Zambia.
A 2-0 first leg victory at the Essipong Sports Stadium made Medeama favourites to make an appearance in the next stage.
Zesco United had the better possession in the first half but failed to score any goal they were almost caught on the break several times by the visiting team, game ended scoreless at the interval.
The home side returned all guns blazing in the second half and were lucky to go ahead four minutes after the restart through Jackson Mwanza.
Zesco failed to build up on the goal, allowing Medeama to launch some dangerous counter attacks that could have put them level at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Zambia.
Medeama SC thus qualify on a 2-1 aggregate score.
