AC Milan midfielder, Micheal Essien will be on the side lines for two weeks after picking up a thigh injury.
The player will undergo further tests in about 10 days time, the club said in a statement.
The midfielder will miss Milan’s away game to Genoa on Monday and will probably not be ready for the home game against Catania next weekend.
The Ghanaian has made six appearances for the Rossoneri since his arrival from English side Chelsea in the winter transfer window.
The 31-year-old is expected to named in Ghana's final squad for the World Cup in Brazil.
