Kumasi Asante Kotoko defeated Edubiase 2-1 at the Bekwai Gyamfi Park to secure its third straight league title.

Seydou Banceys stunning strike put the visitors ahead on the 41st minute. Prince Baffoe quickly doubled the lead after a good spell of possession to give the Porcupine Warriors the needed results.

The home side started brightly after recess but were dealt a huge blow on the 82nd minute mark when striker Stephen Manu failed to score from the spot. Edubiase grew into the game after the penalty miss and soon pulled a goal back courtesy Nti Mensah.

Despite the pressure the home side failed to go past the defensive pair of Smallboy Korbah and Abeiku Ainosson; they pushed bodies upfront for the needed leveler but Didi Dramani’s men  kept cool heads with minutes to end proceedings.

Kumasi Asante Kotoko have now won the trophy for a record 23rd time.

Medeama FC recorded an emphatic 2-0 win over FC Berekum at the Tarkwa T&A Park. Midfielder Collins Akowuah curled in a spectacular free kick in the first half before, Nathaniel Asamoah finished of the game for the home side midway through the second half.

FC Berekum fielded a familiar team but lacked cohesion and bite upfront.

Elsewhere, Isaac Arkron’s solitary goal for Dwarfs was enough to secure all three points against Bechem United the Cape Coast Robert Mensah Stadium.
