Seydou Bancey scored in extra time for Kumasi Asante Kotoko to win the MTN FA Cup on Sunday afternoon against Inter Allies.
The captain on the day poked a ball past Osei Kwame to restore the Porcupine Warriors lead with three minutes remaining after Senegalese striker Talla Ndiaye had cancelled out a first half opener.
The game started off with the porcupine warriors scoring in the 7th minute through Richard Mpong; the winger latched unto a loose ball in the box of Inter Allies, after defence men failed to clear their lines, with the keeper at his mercy he calmly slotted the ball into the roof of the net.
Inter Allies Talla Ndiaye came close to leveling on occasions in the first half, but the lanky attacker together with his front men showed nervy touches in the final third.
Sheriff Mohammed in the on the 58th minute breezed past the Kotoko defence to set up Talla Ndiaye for the equaliser. Inter Allies poured men forward in search of the second but with minutes to end proceedings, the defence men of Kotoko remained resolute to push the game into extra time.
With the game heading for penalties, Seydou Bancey tapped in a Jordan Opoku lay off in the 117th minute to give Kotoko their second silver ware of the season.
