Ghana striker Adul Majeed Warris is set to miss the opening group game against the USA. The ex- Vallenciennes loanee picked up a knock and was aided of the pitch in the early stages of the Stars final friendly against South Korea.
Fans and team mates alike hoped the substitution was only a precautionary measure but reports emerging from the team’s camp base suggest the Right to Dream Academy graduate might fail to be fit in time for Ghana’s opening group game on June 16
Meanwhile the Ghanaian medical team has confirmed that defender Daniel Opare who missed the final test game will be fit for the start of the campaign. Opare’s recovery will come as good news for head Coach James Kwesi Appiah who has been forced to use midfielders in the defensive roles due to the shortage in numbers at the back.
The Black stars will play the USA on June 16 at the Estadio das Dunas Natal before taking on Germany four days later and Portugal in the final group game on June 26.
