Ghana’s camp continues to brim with confidence ahead of their titanic clash with the USA in group G.

The Stars ranked 37th are making their third consecutive appearance at the football mundial and have been handed a tough group with World number two, Germany, number four Portugal and number thirteen USA all in their group.

But the ranking of the teams doesn’t seem to deter the Stars who are confident of continuing their impressive record of making out the group stage at every world cup they have been at.

Speaking to the press upon their arrival in the Natal province.

"For the past eight years we’ve been rated as underdogs but we always prove people wrong. This time we don’t know what is going to happen and we are just waiting for the first game. Expectation back home is high, everybody wants us to make sure we prove ourselves once again in the World Cup", Asamoah Gyan, captain of the team said.

"It’s not about individuals and I think our strongest point is the unity in camp so we’ve got confidence we can achieve our aim in this year’s World Cup.”

Winger Andre Ayew was rather cautious in his approach, "Nobody should think that Ghana will have it easy and just qualify", he said

If we make it from this group that alone should be celebrated as an exploit. If we are eliminated people will say maybe it was because there was Germany and Portugal."

Ghana will play the USA on Monday June 16th at the Estadio das Dunas Natal.
