Black Stars coach James Kwesi Appiah's worries continue to pile, as midfielder Michael Essien joins the list of injured players in camp.

The Chelsea ace has been on a separate training schedule after injuring his knee at training. He is been closely monitored by the medical team to ensure he gets back to full fitness before Ghana’s group opener against the USA.

The former BBC African player of the year has had an injury plagued season after securing a loan move from Chelsea to AC Milan in January and his latest injury will come as a huge concern for the gaffer.

Ghana will play the USA on Monday June 16th at the Estadio das Dunas Natal.
