Ghana defender John Boye has been ruled out of his side’s AFCON 2015 qualifier against Togo on Wednesday.
Boye sustained an injury to his ankle during a training session with the rest of the team at the Accra Sports Stadium on Monday.
The Turkey-based player will not travel with the team as he would not be able to recover in time to feature against the Hawks of Togo on Wednesday.
"John Boye picked up an injury to his ankle in training. He was looked at by the medical team and is continuing treatment. He will not travel with the team for the game in Togo", FA spokesman said.
Boyes absence is a major blow to Kwesi Appiah as he was one of Ghana’s better performers in the teams poor 1-1 draw against Uganda on Saturday.
