The Black Stars have moved three places to 33rd on the FIFA/Coca Cola World Ranking released for the month of September. Ghana climb from 36th spot to 33rd with a total point of 661.
Ghana, however remains 4th on the African rankings, unchanged since the last rankings in August.
The Black Stars made a strong start to their opening 2015 AFCON qualifiers securing 4 points from a possible 6 with a 3-2 victory over Togo and a 1-1 draw at home to Uganda.
World Champions, Germany maintained top spot with Argentina in second place, Columbia beat the Netherlands to 3rd position, their highest placing on the table.
Algeria lead the African pack with 926 points with Ivory Coast and Tunisia following in 2nd and 3rd positions respectively.
