Bayern Munich drew level on points with Borussia Dortmund at the top of the table thanks to a 4-0 win over Schalke at the Veltins Arena.

Two goals in quick succession mid-way through the first half from Bastian Schweinsteiger and Mario Mandzukic effectively took the game beyond the hosts. Franck Ribery and Claudio Pizarro finished off the Royal Blues.

Borussia Dortmund’s 100% winning record in the league ended at Nuremburg. Per Nilsson's 54th-minute goal cancelled out Marcel Schmelzer’s 38th-minute opener.

The Dortmund side had several first regulars rested after their Champions League game in Naples earlier in the week.

Bayer Leverkusen cruised to a 4-1 win over Mainz 05. Robbie Kruse opened the scoring in the 15th minute before Lars Bender added a second seven minutes to half time.

Robbie Kruse scored his second of the day in the 2nd half. Stefan Kiessling added the other. Yunus Malli scored a consolation in the 82nd minute.

Hannover made it four wins out of four at home to move up to fourth in the table, albeit they had to dig deep to beat Augsburg 2-1.

Paul Verhaegh scored a penalty early in the 2nd half to give Ausburg the lead but Artur Sobiech equalized just nine minutes later.

Szabolcs Huszti kept his cool to score a late penalty to earn the Reds all three points and end Augsburg's club record three-game winning streak.

Wolfsburg came from behind to beat Hoffenheim 2-1 and keep their 100% winning record at home to break into the top six. Anthony Modeste’s 5th goal of the season put the visitors ahead but a goal in each half from Ivica Olic secured the win for Wolsburg.

Hoffenheim rallied late on, but could not find an equaliser as they were left in mid-table.

Hamburg’s disastrous run continued as they were beaten 2-0 by local rivals Werder Bremen.

Hamburg replaced manager Thorsten Fink with Rodolfo Cardoso and Otto Addo but there wasn’t much they could do as 2 goals from Nils Peterson saw them to yet another defeat.

Bremen’s coach on the other hand was relieved as they ended a run of three defeats.
