Football governing body, FIFA has given a 30 day ultimatum to Serbian club, Red Star Belgrade to pay Kumasi Asante Kotoko for the transfer of their former striker, Nathaniel Asamoah.
The striker was transferred to the Serbian club for a fee believed to be in the region of $200,000. The Serbians are yet to pay a cent on the transfer and the Ghanain club sought redress with FIFA. Asamoah joined Kotoko from FA President Nyantakyi’s Wa All Stars and his transfer money is rumoured to have been part of the fall out between Nyantakyi and ex Kotoko Executive Chairman, Dr. K.K Sarpong.
Management of Kotoko has revealed their delight with FIFA ruling and has expressed their hope that the Serbians comply so they can have the much-needed money in running the club.
