Germany's Marco Reus exits friendly with ankle injury

Germany have potentially suffered a massive blow in their final World Cup preparation match with winger Marco Reus being carried off in the first half of Die Mannschaft's clash with Armenia in Mainz.

The game was locked at 0-0 and coming up to halftime when Reus twisted his ankle badly and had to be carried off the field, unable to put any weight on his injured side. He was promptly replaced by Lukas Podolski.

With Reus, one of their most important players, Germany will be praying it isn't as bad an injury as it looks. They've been extremely lackluster in their friendlies so far, though Reus is one of the few players who's looked at all lively. Lose him, and they could be in big trouble.

Germany have already suffered the withdrawal of a squad member through injury in their World Cup preparations with midfielder Lars Bender being ruled out due to a thigh problem
