By Ishmeal Martey

Back from the long break that was expected to turn things around for a number of teams, Nima BSC turned to be one of such beneficiaries, picking up their first point in the top flight of the Ghana Beach Soccer League.

A spirited display coupled with a brace from Adapesah Sampson and a goal from Alhassan Sadat rescued a point for them against Teshie United, who were largely tipped to get the three points over the weeping boys of the league.

Champions Keta Sunset Sports made sure they didn’t lose sight of the top spot, occupied by their rivals Havedzi Mighty Warriors, who bagged an easy three points without kicking a ball because Ada Assurance failed to turn up.

Sunset coming into the game on the back of a defeat before the break made light of their opponents East Legon Sharks scoring a goal each in the three sessions of the game to finish 3-0 victors.

In a fiercely contested affair, Dansoman held their nerves when it mattered most to claim the three points in the Accra derby. La Yoca scored first through Abdallah Michael before being pegged back with two quick goals from Dansoman.

The La based club wrestled back the advantage, taking a 3-2 lead into the final quarter of the game to set up a nerve wracking finish.

Dansoman needed a hero and Mathew Lamptey popped up with two perfectly finished goals to hand Dansoman all three points.

Two time goal king, Richard Osa broke his 6 week scoring duck with a brace to aid his Wuo Gbee side dispatch Gulf powers by four goals to three.

In the Division one African Angels provided a huge upset, defeating leaders Golden Eagles to throw the race for the promotion wide open.
