In a weekend filled with goals and wins for the big gangs in the CAL Bank Beach Soccer League, leaders Sunset Sports, had their work cut out as they collected a cool three points and three goals without having to kick a ball after the low lying Teshie United failed to turn up.
The result keeps the Champions at the summit with just goals separating them from neighbors, Havedzi Mighty Warriors.
The high flying Warriors ensured they did not lose sight of the top, although they were made to work hard by Wuo Gbee in a 10 goal thriller. A hat-trick by Kudadah Sampson coupled with a brace from Ahorlu Edem and Alfred Torsu ensured Havedzi were 6-4 victors, Richard Osa hattrick was however not enough to salvage a point for Wuo Gbee.
Gulf Powers secured another three points in the afterAda Assurance failed to turn up for the game.
With a chunk of the games failing to come off, East Legon Sharks and Dansoman served the fans with a block buster of a game; played at a blistering pace that saw both sides cancel out each other and the lead swinging several times in the game.
Mathew Lamptey stole the three points point for Dansoman last weekend against La Yoca and he can be spared for thinking he had done it again when he scored his third of the game with 6 minutes to go but Sharks captain Uriel Appienti added the final twist to the game when he scored his third and fourth goal to end proceedings 5-4.
The win is Sharks in as many games and also a sweet revenge having suffered defeat under similar circumstances in the first round.
In the division one, Golden eagles delivered a soccer punch to fellow promotion hopefuls Tema United, as they zoomed back to winning ways having dropped points last weekend.
Nungua United also dispatched Winneba giants 6-0, as they continued their search for a way back into the top flight of Ghana Beach Soccer.
