CAF Boss, Issa Hayotou has revealed that the new host for the 2015 African Cup of Nations will be announced in the next two to three days.
This comes after Morocco, original host of the Championships were barred after asking for a postponement of the Championship stating fears over the Ebola pandemic.
After an Executive meeting at its Head Quarters in Cairo, Hayatou explained that the country to replace Morocco as hosts of the Championship will be disclosed in the coming days.
" Do not anticipate! Wait for two or three days. You have waited for a month. The series lasted a month. It is left with three or four days, so do not be in a hurry," Hayatou is quoted as saying on France 24.
When quizzed about the date of the showpiece, Issa Hayatou reiterated that the showpiece will take place on the previously announced dates.
" This is what we said in our statement that the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations must absolutely take place from 17 January to 8 February for reasons you know. There are a lot of reasons that led us not to change the date. You know, we have a problem with French clubs which will not release our players if we move the Africa Cup of Nations".
It’s however rumored that countries like Algeria, Angola, Gabon, Egypt and Sierra Leone are in line to host the Championship.
