Joshua Clottey will return to the ring to face Mexican opponent, Saul Canelo Alvarez in December.
Joshua Clottey’s most recent fight was a win against Anthony Mundine on April 9 in Australia to claim the WBA International Light Middleweight title.
The "Grandmaster" has been on a lengthy absence and will be hoping to win against highly rated Canelo at the Alamodome in San Antonio, USA.
"Obviously I am very eager to be a World Champion again and there is no doubt I will get the chance if I fight Canelo. I will grab the opportunity with both hands’’, Clottey was quoted as saying in an interview with Allsports.com.gh.
Alvarez (44-1-1, 31 KO) who has signed a multi-fight deal with HBO has no title to defend against Clottey but has two wins this year against Alfredo Angulo and a split decision win over Erislandy Lara in July.
Canelo Alvarez last fought on HBO in May 2012 against Shane Mosley on a Mayweather- Cotto undercard.
