Ophelia Swayne fails to qualify in 50m freestyle event



Ghanaian swimming sensation Ohpelia Swayne, placed last in Heat 4 of the Women’s 50m Freestyle at the Tollcross Swimming Center at the ongoing Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.

Ohpelia who is competing in her first ever Commonwealth Games finished the race in 8th place with a time of 29.09s.  J.Lunkuse of Uganda won the race in a time of 27.43s, Courtney Butcher of Guernsey finished in second place while Matelita Buadromo of Fiji finished third.

Ophelia Swayne after failing to qualify for the next phase will be competing in the 50m butterfly event on Saturday.

Abugri Razak won bronze for Ghana in the 60kg category of the mens’s Judo competition.
