Anthony Mundine and Joshua Clottey are set to go for a showdown on April 2nd at the Newcastle Entertainment Centre in Broadmeadow, New South Wales, Australia.
Clottey (37-4, 22 KO’s) is returning to the ring after a long spell of absence, Clottey has fought all the top names in the Welterweight division, with wins over Diego Corrales and Zab Judah.
Joshua Clottey’s four career loses have all been to World Champions in Manny Pacquaio, Miguel Cotto, Antonio Margarito and Carlos Baldomir.
It will be Mundine’s third fight in just five months, with the 38-year-old last in action in January, where he defeated Gunnar Jackson in Brisbane, after disposing of future hall of famer Shane Mosley in November last year.
"He’s got a very tight defence and tries to come back if you put a couple of good ones on him .The reason why we’ve got Clottey is because of his name, his credibility in the business and the man has been in some massive fights and so he’s known to the boxing punters" Mundine told AAP.
