Joshua Clottey will get an opportunity to break out into the welterweight division again when he faces Anthony Mundine, on the 9th of April at the Newcastle Entertainment Centre in Australia.
Clottey (37-4, 22 KOs) whose last fight was a win against Dashon Johnson at Paramount Theatre, believes the bout on April 9 will be a chance to break into the welterweight ranks again.
"This is a breakthrough fight for me and I want to be back in the spotlight, I want to be a World champion again",Joshua told Asempa FM.
Anthony Mundine who is currently ranked No.4 contender for Floyd Mayweather’s WBA super welterweight title will be a good test for the "Hitter".
"The fight is a big one, an International WBA and winning it will give me a chance at a World title shot" he added.
Clottey also sang praise on his manager, saying he wants to be with him till the end of his fighting career.
"My manager is very good, he gives me advice on fight contracts and he negotiates perfectly well with fight promoters. He does his job so well am always focused and have my eye on the prize. My former manager failed to do a lot of things right- he was bad", Clottey said.
